Do the same for the second slat.
Plan the direction of the herringbone pattern usually this will follow the length of the room.
Add subsequent slats to create the herringbone pattern taking care to position two slats at a time.
If you re fitting your floor over concrete you will need to use a specifically designed underlay that has a built in dpm damp proof membrane.
Find the centre of the room and use a plumb line to mark out a centre line.
