Pry up the boards starting at the wall until you get to the damaged ones. Then apply construction adhesive at the top and bottom. First remove all obstacles vacuum clean the area before applying the caulk and paint the skirting board mopboard floor molding or base molding. Fill all nail holes in both shoe molding and baseboard molding with plastic wood and let dry.

First hold the base molding against the wall after you cut it to length and look for gaps. Replace them one by one as needed. Lengths of scrap baseboard and put 45 degree angles on the ends. Wear safety glasses and use a putty knife to remove any molding or baseboards around the perimeter of the damaged area.

Sink all nails with a nail set. Apply wood filler with your putty knife apply wood filler. Make sure the floor is completely dry before you begin the repairs. Set nails about 12 inches apart.

Caulking the gaps in trim joints and the gap between flooring baseboards improve water impermeability of the floor. If you see some cut a few braces from 4 to 6 in.
