How to hide upper floor revit.
Hide an element when you do not want it to appear in a view.
When i m looking at the 1st floor i can see all the details of the ground floor making it look too cluttered.
When you tried to underlay a floor only doors and windows were visible.
With hidden lines if they are positioned above the cut plane of the floor plan view with solid contour lines if they are below the cut plane and within the view range of.
You may use a masking region but the best and easiest way in my opinion is to go to visibility graphics then under stairs uncheck above cutmarks and above outlines.
In plan view click view menu view properties.
There are various ways too hide the hidden lines above the cut line in stairs so as to reduce the clutter in the drawing or may be to show the walls underneath the stairs.
Alternatively right click the element and click hide in viewelements category or by filter.
In the drawing area select the element to hide.

Hi i m new to revit so sorry for such a noobie question is it possible to hide walls doors etc from the lower floors.
This issue occurs because there is an incorrect view range in the main view.
To prevent the floor or slab from being visible in plan view you need to adjust the bottom clip so that it is more than 4 feet above the floor or slab and set the view depth so that it does not include any part of the floor or slab.
If the view range intersects the geometry of a level in your main view that level cannot be used as an underlay in the main view.
