Sep 15 2015 i thought i would share a quick tip for all of you newborn photographers who love faux fur but hate the way it gets all matted when you have to wash and dry it. Try it when the fleece item is still damp from being washed or dampen the fleece with a spray bottle of water. Allow the faux fur to soak in the water and detergent solution for 15 minutes. If the faux fur is matted try spraying a bit of hair detangling product on the matted portion and then use a pet brush comb to gently brush out the matted area. Drain rinse and spin after 15 minutes set the washer to drain and to a low speed spin. After you finish this process you can use a hair blow dryer on low setting to help dry and smooth out the detangled faux fur.

Brush the lining with a clean stiff hairbrush. Lay the fleece on a table pick a corner or less noticeable area with which to start and hold the material in place with one hand while you use the other to vigorously brush the fleece.
